Existential counseling and Gestalt therapy
I work with people with a range of counseling needs, specific issues such as stress, burn-out, anxiety or depression, and with general issues that people come across in their daily lives dealing with relationships, health, work or self-image. Domains which I count among my areas of specialism include addiction, (trauma-)sexuality, anxiety, high sensitivity (HSP), burnout and depression.
My main approach is from humanistic psychology. Both existential counseling and gestalt therapy fit into this holistic approach. It is based on addressing the whole person – mind, body and spirit. The counseling focuses on self-support and making choices that are in line with who you are.

How does Gestalt therapy work?
Gestalt is an experiential form of psychotherapy. It is designed to help you navigate life’s challenges. There are three fundamental principles that guide my therapeutical work.
Taking Responsibility: Figuring out what’s mine.
To communicate well, it’s important to know what’s your stuff and what belongs to others. When you get better at this, you’ll handle work and relationships more smoothly. You’ll notice when things don’t feel right in interactions with others.
Expressing Yourself: Voicing what’s going on inside.
When you’re dealing with personal issues, talking to others can help. But sometimes, talking too much without action doesn’t change things. What’s more effective is connecting with what truly bothers you. Ask yourself: “What’s this really about?” Expressing your feelings helps. Old feelings might show up, like sadness or anger. Your body tells you a lot about what’s happening inside or outside. Learning this skill is simple and really useful.
Self-discovery: Learning through doing
In therapy, we look at situations causing you trouble. It could be about work or your personal life. By exploring these situations together, you’ll understand them better and how they affect you. As you have those ‘aha moments,’ you’ll see things from different angles and handle them in new ways. Trying things out or doing creative stuff can help too. And remember, it’s not just about what happens; it’s about what you learn and feel along the way.
